1980
The beginning: The RSL Hall was rented for $100 per annum. December saw our first Open day.
1981
During the year the first painting and pottery workshops held. December Open Day profit $99.45
1982
Workshops included pottery, painting, screen printing and interior design. Mrs Phylis Mary John, a ver supportive member of the group passed away aged 81. Open Day profits increased to $251.00
1983
Pottery kiln was installed in the Shire maintenance shed which mow became the group headquarters.
The shop was established and courses in ceramics and cake decorating were established.
A constitution was adopted and the Open Day was held in the Town Hall.
1984
A ceramic kiln was installed and more equipment perched for the centre. Noelle Thompson, potter in residence at Narrogin included Boddington in her visiting area. Activities included: cake decorating, ceramics, silverwork, painting, bookclub and patchwork quilting.
Judi Pearson designed the Arts Council logo.
Senior Citizens’ rooms much appreciated as a meeting venue.
Open Day held in the Town Hall. Profit $600.
1985
Launching of the Building Fund to raise money to improve facilities held in conjunction with Boddington’s first “Suitcase Exhibition”, a photographic exhibition and presented as a wine and cheese evening in the school resource centre.
Activities from previous year expanded and paper making workshops introduced.
Old Police Station brought into use for workshops.
Open Day not as successful as in previous years.
1986
Wreaths made and donated to the RSL.
A successful application made to the Joint Venturers fo funds for an new Arts Centre.
Continuation of the Guest Speaker series with a visit from author Tom Hungerford, Songs of Love and Longing with Divas (the function room was transformed).
Sally Field and Paul Rossen were commissioned to draw up plans for a new centre.
A most successful garden fete on “Marlin” raised $1,600 towards printing of “Recipes and Reminisences” to be launched in November.
No Open Day but, a craft stall in the shearing complex at the Rodeo.
