Jenny Robb

Born in Katanning, Jenny grew up in Kalamunda, moving to Perth when she was about 9 years of age. Jenny completed her education at the Seventh Day Adventist College at Carmel. A very versatile lady, Jenny is prepared to have a go at most things and over the years has been a general hospital nursing assistant, a shop assistant and a factory worker in Australia. In the UK she was a mental health nursing assistant, a typist and a factory hand. While in Zimbabwe, she had a stint as an art teacher. Jenny came to Boddington in October, 1979 and has a son, David. Interested in all types of craft work, she is also and enthusiastic and locative cook.

Savoury Scones

Ingredients

225 g self raising flour

60 g cheddar cheese

1 dessertspoon curry powder

110 g butter

1 pkt. onion flakes (moistened as per instructions)

Water to mix

Method

Preheat oven to 200° C.

Sift flour into a bowl. Cut butter into small pieces and rub into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add grated cheese, onion flakes and curry powder. Add enough water to make a stiff dough. Place on floured board and roll out to 2.5 cm thickness. Cut into scone shapes and place on a greased tray. Brush with beaten egg.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

This is good used at barbecues instead of bread.
