Noleen was born in Busselton, Noelene Ann Bussel Vines and is a direct descendant of John Garret Bussel, one of the early pioneers of the Busselton district. She completed her education act St Mary’s School , Karrinyup and then went on to Perth Tech to do a cooking course. Married to Malcolm Treasure, Noelene has lived on the family property at Wandering ever since. The couple have two sons.
Noelene is becoming increasingly well know for her beautiful handicraft work. Her expertise with a needle or sewing machine produces a continual stream of unusual and attractive items which are a tribute to her considerable skill.
Easy Fish Mornay
Ingredients
450g can salmon
2 hard boiled eggs
1 onion, finely chopped
120g grated cheese
sliced tomato
White Sauce
3 cups milk
6 tablespoons cornflour
Method
Drain liquid from can of salmon into a pan. Simmer finely chopped onion in pan until clear. Make up basic white sauce. add cooked onion and chopped hard boiled eggs. Break up the salmon and add to sauce. Pour into casserole. Cover with sliced tomato and top with grated cheese. Place in oven or under grill to brown top.
Corn Cob Pie
Ingredients
2 onions, very finely sliced
3 to 4 tomatoes, depending on size, peeled and sliced
1 medium-sized can of creamed sweet corn
3 cups fresh breadcrumbs
Butter
Method
Place ingredients in casserole in layers in the order above. Fry breadcrumbs lightly in a little butter. Sprinkle on top of the pie and bake of 1½ hours at 180°C.
